We wish we could do this live somehow so we could talk to you and hear how you feel about this whole world of adoption, about everything you’re considering. We hope you are getting all the love and support you need from family and friends and we are here if you want to talk (and we can mind our own business if you don’t want to talk, or at least Jon can). We're both easy to talk to.
We have been through the adoption process with our first son, Julian, which confirmed our belief that open adoption and being chosen by the birthmother was the right way for us to approach adoption. We were so lucky to meet both the birthmother and father and their families and stay in touch with everyone. Julian’s birthmother contacted us when she was 7 months pregnant and already committed to adoption. She came up to visit with her folks and her sister to meet us in person. It was a bit awkward at first, but after getting to know each other a bit more over lunch and a walk around our neighborhood a feeling of closeness began to take hold and a trust in one another that has grown stronger with each passing year. I can confidently say that everyone feels very lucky to have found one another. Of course, every adoption is different and we are committed to honoring the type of realtionship you would like to have with us.
On the following pages is some more information about us and our family that we hope will give you a real, true sense of who we are and how we live so you can decide if you want to take it further. It feels impossible to do that in a few paragraphs, so we hope you’ll take a look at the photos too and give us a ring or send an email, even if you feel uncertain (how could you feel otherwise?). You might even want to talk to Julian's birth mother and grandmother, who have agreed to talk to anyone interested in placing with us.
